Humility
Many times we promise to give honor back to God but as soon as men begin to give us praise, we forget and begin to glory in ourselves. The Scriptures say in Matthew 5:16 we should Let our light so shine that men may see our good works and glorify Our Father in Heaven. Proverbs 27:21 says, As the refining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold: so is man to his praise. One of life’s biggest test is how we handle praise or compliments directed towards us. The world calls it The Big Head. The Apostle Paul called it Puffed Up in 1 Corinthians 13:4. In Romans 12:3 Paul said we should not think of ourselves more highly than we ought to. Let us not forget from whence cometh our help.(Psalms 121:1-2) Be ready to give an answer for your reason of hope with meekness and fear of the Lord.(1Peter 3:15) If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.(1Peter 4:11)
